Your journey begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Bishkek. Our first stop is the Burana Tower, a historical monument near the town of Tokmok, dating back to the 11th century. Explore the ancient ruins, mausoleums, and stone carvings that tell the story of Kyrgyzstan’s Silk Road past. Climb to the top of the tower for panoramic views of the Chui Valley and the distant Tien Shan mountains. You’ll also visit a small museum and an open-air collection of balbals (ancient stone statues), giving you a deeper insight into local history and traditions.
Next, you’ll continue through the beautiful Boom Gorge, where steep cliffs rise above the flowing Chu River. Here, you’ll stop for a unique tea experience. Your guide will show you how tea is prepared in a traditional samovar, just as nomads have done for generations. Enjoy this fresh, hot tea with warm, crispy katama bread (Kyrgyz puff cakes). It’s a simple, peaceful moment by the river — a chance to relax, enjoy nature, and connect with the land.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Bokonbaevo village, famous for preserving the ancient tradition of eagle hunting. Meet a skilled Berkutchi (eagle hunter) and learn about the deep bond between hunter and bird. Watch a live demonstration where the eagle soars, spots prey, and hunts. You’ll also have a chance to take photos with the majestic Golden Eagle and try your hand at archery, guided by local experts.
After a full day of exploring, relax and unwind at our cozy yurt camp on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. Enjoy a hearty, home-cooked dinner and spend the night in a traditional yurt, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the lake and mountains.
