Day 1:
Bishkek – Burana Tower – Horse Riding in Chon Kemin
We start the day with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Bishkek and begin our journey towards the peaceful Chon Kemin National Park, where we will spend our first night. Today is a perfect mix of history, nature, and adventure.
Our first stop is the famous Burana Tower, one of the oldest historical sites in Kyrgyzstan. This 9th-century minaret is all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, once an important stop on the Silk Road. You can climb to the top for stunning views of the valley, visit the small museum to learn about the region’s history, and walk among the Balbals, ancient stone figures carved by nomadic tribes to honor their ancestors. Burana is not just a monument — it’s a doorway into Kyrgyzstan’s deep past.
After exploring Burana, we continue driving to Chon Kemin National Park, known for its wide open valleys, fresh air, and friendly local people. Here, you’ll meet our calm and well-trained horses, carefully chosen to match your riding level. Whether you prefer a gentle 1-2 hour ride or a longer 4-5 hour adventure, our two guides – one local and one English-speaking – will ensure your comfort and safety as you ride through this beautiful landscape.
After horse riding, we’ll check into a cozy family guesthouse, enjoy a warm, home-cooked dinner, and relax for the night in comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and showers.
DAY 3:
Bokobaevo – Skazka Canyon – Barskoon Waterfall – Bishkek
After breakfast in the yurt, we start our day by exploring the stunning nature around Issyk-Kul Lake. First, we visit Skazka Canyon, also known as Fairy Tale Canyon, where you’ll take a 1-2 hour walk through colorful and strange rock formations shaped like castles, animals, and towers. It’s a great spot for photos and enjoying the peaceful landscape.
Next, we continue to Barskoon Gorge, famous for its tall waterfalls and forested mountain views. Here, you can take a short walk up to the falls, relax by the river, and breathe in the fresh mountain air. We’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch near the waterfall, surrounded by nature.
After lunch, we begin our drive back to Bishkek, taking in the last views of Issyk-Kul along the way. We arrive in the evening, filled with memories of beautiful places and real nomadic life.
