Your guide meets you at your hotel in Bishkek in the morning, and your journey toward Issyk-Kul Lake begins. The first stop is the historic Burana Tower, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most important Silk Road monuments. Your guide will share the story of this 11th-century minaret before you climb to the top for wide views over the Chuy Valley and distant Tian Shan mountains.

As you continue east, the scenery becomes more dramatic. Along the way, there is an optional stop at Konorchek Canyon. Guests who enjoy light adventure can take a short hike through the canyon’s beautiful red rock formations, while others may prefer to continue directly and enjoy a more relaxed journey toward the lake.

By afternoon, you arrive at the southern shore of Issyk-Kul near Bokonbaevo village. Here you experience one of the true highlights of Kyrgyz culture — a traditional eagle hunting demonstration. You will see the power and skill of the golden eagle up close, learn how it is trained, and have the chance to take memorable photos with the bird.

In the evening, check into your cozy yurt camp by the lake. Enjoy a peaceful dinner with beautiful views, followed by a warm bonfire where you can relax and share impressions from your first day.

After breakfast your guide takes you to one of Kyrgyzstan’s most photogenic natural wonders—Fairytale Canyon. This surreal landscape of red sandstone formations has been carved by wind and rain into shapes resembling castles, dragons, and giant walls. Enjoy an easy scenic walk through the canyon while your guide shows you the best viewpoints for photos.

Next continue east toward the beautiful Barskoon Gorge, one of the most famous valleys along Issyk-Kul’s southern shore. Surrounded by pine forests and mountain peaks, you will hike to the stunning Barskoon Waterfalls where fresh glacier water cascades down steep cliffs into the valley below.

After lunch, your journey continues to Jeti-Oguz Gorge, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most iconic landmarks known for its bright red sandstone cliffs called the Seven Bulls and Broken Heart. Here you can enjoy a relaxed walk through the valley and admire the dramatic mountain scenery. Optional horseback riding to Kok-Jaiyk Valley can be arranged for travelers wanting extra adventure.

In the evening arrive in Karakol where you can unwind after the day’s adventure. If desired, your guide can stop at natural hot springs before dinner for a relaxing soak.

Today is one of the true highlights of your journey. After breakfast, your guide takes you into the mountains in a rugged Russian military vehicle, perfectly suited for the adventurous off-road track into Altyn Arashan Valley. The drive itself is part of the experience, crossing rivers and rocky trails through untouched wilderness.

After around two hours, you arrive in the beautiful Altyn Arashan Gorge, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, pine forests, and green alpine meadows.

This day is flexible and easy to enjoy at your own pace. There are many activities to choose from: relaxed walks in the valley, scenic hiking, horseback riding, and the famous natural hot springs. Your guide will help you choose the best options based on your interests and energy level, making sure the day feels comfortable and rewarding. You will also have time to enjoy lunch in this peaceful mountain setting.

For active travelers in good physical condition, there is an optional early start for a hike toward Ala-Kul Lake, offering a more challenging and rewarding experience(this option should be discussed and confirmed in advance before the tour).

In the afternoon, return to Karakol. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner, and for those who wish, a relaxing massage after the day’s adventure.

After breakfast, your guide introduces you to the charming town of Karakol with a short city tour of its most famous landmarks. Visit the unique Dungan Mosque, built entirely without nails, and the beautiful Russian Orthodox Church, one of the finest wooden buildings in Kyrgyzstan. Your guide shares the multicultural history that shaped this fascinating mountain town.

Leaving the city, you drive toward the green alpine valleys of Grigoriev and Semenov Gorges. These peaceful mountain valleys are filled with pine forests, rivers, and flower-covered meadows. Enjoy time walking through the beautiful scenery and breathing the fresh mountain air while your guide points out the best scenic viewpoints.

In the afternoon continue to Cholpon-Ata, where you enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Issyk-Kul Lake. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, this is the perfect final experience of the journey and offers some of the most beautiful panoramic photos of the lake.

After the boat ride, begin your comfortable return drive to Bishkek through the scenic northern lakeshore road. Your guide drops you off at your hotel in the evening.
